Attractions in our locality

Horní Maršov Village

The village of Horní Maršov and its part Albeřice is generally known for its proximity to the mountain resort Pec pod Sněžkou (12 km) or Jánské lázně (9 km), but also for its own interesting surroundings and local opportunities.

The dominant feature of the village is the massive neo-Gothic church, also called the "new" church = Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The architect of the church was one of the most important Czech architects of the time, Josef Schulz, who also designed the National Theatre, the National Museum and the Rudolfinum in Prague.

Skiing and snowboarding

In winter, you can take advantage of various ski resorts in the area, such as Jánské lázně, Černá Hora, Pec pod Sněžkou or Malá and Velká Úpa. These resorts can be easily reached by ski bus.

The closest is the Horní Alberice ski lift, suitable for beginners and advanced skiers, which has natural snow and night skiing, or the Herlíkovice ski resort.

Tourism

The surrounding area is interwoven with many marked hiking trails that will take you to the most beautiful places of the Giant Mountains during summer and winter hiking. You can also use the services of the cycle bus.

Nearby is a mountain ridge called Rýchory, which forms the border between Horní Maršov, Žacléř, Mladý Buky and Svoboda nad Úpa. Part of the ridge is the Dvorský (pra)forest. You can end your mountain walk with a small snack at Rýchorská bouda, from where you will have breathtaking views of the wide region.

By cable car from Velká Úpa

In summer and winter we definitely recommend visiting the chairlift Velká Úpa - Portášova Bouda, which is part of the SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA - PEC. In summer it offers a great starting point for hiking and is located 12 km away.

The whole surrounding area is attractive for tourists, both in terms of natural scenery and valuable tourist sights. There are cycle paths and hiking trails, including a visit to Sněžka, Adršpach sandpit or Teplice Rocks.

Cross-country skiing

The village of Horní Maršov, to which Dolní Albeřice is connected, is traversed by the Krkonoše Ski Route - about 80 km of groomed trails connecting all major resorts from Harrachov in the west to Malá Úpa and Žacléř in the east with connections to cross-country skiing trails to the Jizera Mountains and Poland.

In total, this backbone Krkonoše trail connects several hundred kilometres of cross-country skiing trails.
