The fourty-two-meter-high water tower was built in 1903–1904 by the architect František Schlaffer following project of the Office of the Royal Water City of Prague, and served as a reservoir of water for the lower part of Libeň for about sixty years. Up to 178 cubic meters of water came into its reservoir. It was decommissioned in the 1960s, and has long since been left untouched. In 1991, the tower became a protected cultural monument of the Czech Republic. In 2009 by a private investor decided to renovate it and return it to its lost beauty. Thanks to the costly redevelopment project, the tower turned into an atypical mansion with a maisonette flat right at the top of the tower.
Totally unique residence
In addition to a unique apartment 3+kt of 223 sqm in the top of the tower, there is also an underground relaxation center on the land including a wine cellar with a usable area of 433 sqm and a garage (158 sqm for 8 cars). The tower, relaxation center and garage are now in shell & core state. There is a glazed elevator in the tambour itself, ready for casting. The apartment with a circular ground plan is connected by a staircase at the perimeter of the tower, in the lower part is designed a living room with a kitchenette, a pantry and a toilet, in the middle part a study with bathroom and toilet and a top floor with a round bedroom with bathroom and toilet. Panoramic 360 ° outlook provides a beautiful views of all Prague.
The above-standard relaxation center is an additional building to the residential part. The daylight is provided with roof windows, there is a pool area, a sauna and a relaxation area, a squash court, a gym, a cloakroom, a toilet and a bar. Everything connects the hall. Part of the building is the air-conditioning and boiler room, in the lower part of the center there is a well and a wine-cellar with a barrel vault, built from baroque sandstone blocks. The third building is a garage with three separate entrances. The garage has a security facility.
This is a very exclusive property that will be an unrepeatable challenge for the new owner. Precisely designed rough construction offers a unique design not only for residential use, but also as a possible representative office of the company.
In the vicinity of the tower you will find complete civic amenities. C-Ládví metro station and tram stops are about 400 meters away. A bus stop is right next to the property. Doctors, school, kindergarten, gymnasium, supermarkets, restaurants – all within walking distance. For pleasant walks there is, for example, the Ďáblický háj or the nearby forest park. There are many sports facilities, swimming stadium, tennis courts, cycling trails along the Vltava River, Letňany shopping center, ZOO, the advantage is also a quick connection to the Prague circuit.
